OUR STORY (SEPTEMBER 2015): I live with my mother and two older brothers who are working full time. Three months ago our father Jamal was killed in a air raid, I was also injured during that strike.
UPDATE - MARCH 2016: "We both really love going to school. In the morning, I sometimes wake up before Manar so I have time to fix my hair. We both have a big class, with 40 students or more. Our favorite subject is Arabic because it is our native language. We are so happy with our teachers, they help us a lot! Thanks so much for your support!" - Khalid
UPDATE - JUNE 2016: "School is going really well. My mom makes fun of me because I’m always excited and happy to go, and I sometimes wish I could go to school on the weekend. I am doing well in my classes and I can do many math problems and read and write now. My mom says I do my homework very well and I agree with her! My sister Manar also likes school and is doing well, however this summer she will not go to summer school like me." -Khalid
UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2016: "This summer, we went to Kocali, another town. We played at the parks there. We are really looking forward to going back to school because we really missed our teachers. Khaled especially missed studying. He did really well in school and his goal is to do even better this year. My goal is to be first in class. I’m going to make new friends and Khaled keeps saying he wants to volunteer with the school again, since he did that last year and really helped out our teachers. I’m going to improve my reading and Khaled is going to become even better at Turkish too!" -Manar
