Director of OPERATIONS

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director of Operations is responsible for oversight of key operational functions of Karam Foundation including Human Resources, Finance and Administration. S/he will lead the development of strengthening current processes in place as well as ensure timely execution of tasks associated with operational functions.
Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and monitor organizational goals, and share benchmarking and best practices across departments
Identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency
Take responsibility and initiative in smooth running of all business operations
Reviewing Karam’s legal and operational documents and keeping all documents, registrations, licenses up to date.
Aggregating and preparing quarterly board reports from all departments.
Work with accountant and oversee financial strategy including spending and projections.
Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
Representing Karam in meetings with consultants, auditors, or other third parties as may be required from time-to-time.
Leading and organizing the process for staff evaluation in coordination with department managers.
Direct the Human Resources function of the organization including, but not limited to employee policy handbook, performance management process, policy and procedure development and implementation of same, benefits administration, payroll, recruitment and retention, and new employee orientation program.
Accounting for staff hours, benefits, vacation and leaves.
Conduct interviews, hiring, and firing procedures in coordination with department head.
Assisting staff in assessing potential interns and training/managing Karam interns.
Preparing and running weekly staff meetings.
Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
Conduct logistical activities for staff including booking travel and accommodation.
Manage general office services, including cleaning and maintenance.
Oversee property and asset management, including maintaining inventories and asset
Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
Outstanding communication and people skills
Knowledge of non-profit legal rules and guidelines
In depth knowledge of diverse non-profit functions and principles
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Familiarity with Google Drive and various software
BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
Proficiency in Arabic is required.
Proficiency in Turkish is a plus.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION:
40 hours per week.
Compensation based on experience.
