KARAM HOUSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE MENTOR

 

AS The English Language Mentor at karam house, you will teach  English language to the community members of Reyhanli, Turkey through creative workshops, courses, and activities. you will have the opportunity to work with syrian refugees as well as coordinate and facilitate virtual learning sessions with international mentors across the world.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Co-developing an English Language curriculum with creative activities
    • Planning, preparing and delivering lessons
    • Preparing teaching materials
    • Mentor beneficiaries to improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
  • Checking and assessing beneficiaries work
  • Coordinate virtual learning sessions & workshops with international mentors
  • Provide additional English language mentoring to students and staff
  • Weekly reporting
  • Providing English translation services as needed (written + oral)
  • Attending professional development training as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, or other relevant fields.
  • Native English speaker (preferred)
  • Excellent spoken and written language skills, with English and Arabic
  • 3-5 years experience in teaching or working with youth
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • Clear diction
  • Patience
  • Creativity and willingness to learn
  • Good team member
  • Competence in Google Drive (documents, spreadsheets)

LOCATION:  Reyhanli, Turkey

HOURS:  40 hours per week

PRODUCT MANAGER

 

AS PRODUCT MANAGER YOU WILL BE WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE CREATIVE DESIGNER, SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER, AND DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING A SYSTEM TO MAINTAIN KARAM’S INVENTORY AS WELL AS DRAFTING PROPOSALS FOR POTENTIAL DISTRIBUTORS.

DUTIES:

  • Create & manage electronic inventory system
  • Communicate directly with customers
  • Coordinate events that are both local and not local, and maintain their product sales
  • Fulfill product orders
  • Purchase supplies for store
  • Work directly with Creative Designer on creating new products
  • Keep up with packaging and merchandise trends
  • Communicate Karam's mission to customers and potential partners
  • Work directly with Social Media Manager on product related social media content
  • Outreach to local distributors to sell Karam products
  • Prepare sales reports

Lake Forest, IL

HOURS & COMPENSATION
Part-time, 20 hours per week, with potential for full-time. $15 per hour.

ACCOUNTING CLERK

 

AS ACCOUNTING CLERK, YOU WILL BE WORKING DIRECTLY WITH THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL OPERATIONS AS WELL AS OTHER KARAM TEAM MEMBERS. YOU WILL GAIN A CLOSE UNDERSTANDING ABOUT KARAM FOUNDATION’S WORK AND THE SYRIAN CRISIS, DEVELOP SKILLS IN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, AND ENJOY A COLLABORATIVE TEAMWORK CULTURE.

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
