A higher Education for Syria's Youth

Karam Foundation has always been focused on education. We believe that education is the key to helping Syrian students achieve their goals, become contributing members of their host society, and to rebuild Syria in the future. We are proud to announce the launch of the Karam Scholars program to assist Syrian students who have fled to Turkey and the United States and are on a journey to pursue higher education.

Join us in support of some of the brightest and bravest youth in the world.

Turkey Program

At Karam, we understand the unique challenges faced by Syrian students in Turkey. Despite the generosity of the public higher educational system, Syrian students are still unable to make ends meet. As such, we have developed a program that addresses their basic needs. Students who have been accepted and are about to begin, or have begun, their coursework at a public Turkish University and are having financial difficulties in paying for ancillary expenses are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

The application period for the 2016-2017 school year has been closed. Applications will reopen in late summer 2017. To be informed about other potential opportunities, please sign up here.

USA Program (College Students)

Karam Foundation is proud to be establishing ties with higher education institutions in the United States. Through our partners at I.I.E., Books Not Bombs, and EducationUSA we are pleased to be able to offer information and application support for Syrian refugees, recently resettled, or recently immigrated students applying to universities in the U.S. To be informed about potential opportunities, please sign up here.

If you are interested in receiving application assistance via our mentorship program, please sign up here.

USA Program (High School)     Young Scholars

Our program within the United States for recently resettled or immigrated Syrian high school students is geared towards placing students at secondary schools for the summer or for the school year. We also assist students applying for college and university by linking them with mentors.

We are proud to announce that two recently resettled Syrian refugees have been placed at St. Johnsbury Academy, a private boarding school, though the Karam Scholars program. We are so proud of Ayman and Ghina, and can't wait to see what their futures hold. We are extremely proud to have partnered with such a distinguished institution to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for these students. St. Johnsbury has understood the need of Syrian students and we are grateful to be able to connect on our mutual belief in the importance of education and the opportunities it provides youth to create their own futures.

Through the Karam Scholars program, two students were placed at NuVu Studio for the summer. These two students, who are in the middle school, were able to enroll in two innovative studios that challenged them to think about the applicability of tech in everyday life.

We extend our deepest gratitude to NuVu and their wonderful team who worked hard to ensure these students benefitted as much as possible from their enrollment in these courses.

Thank you for standing with the next generation of Syrian doctors, engineers, lawyers, and scholars.
Thank you for supporting their education and an end to attacks against their schools.
