Situated amongst the olive groves of Idleb, Maarat Nouman is a city of 150,000 people including over 50,000 displaced from across Syria — many of them women and children.
Karam Foundation’s Happy Farm is in the small rural town of Kafr Rouma, just to the west. The Farm, implemented and managed by our field staff inside Syria, is an innovative humanitarian project designed to empower local communities and contribute to their resilience.
Happy Farm is a self-sustaining cow and chicken farm that employs vulnerable yet technically capable families in the local community to run the farm. We also have a Syrian veterinarian on staff to monitor the health of the animals.
