OUR STORY - APRIL 2018: “Our family escaped Syria and fled to Turkey in fear of getting detained by the regime. I had to work because my father was detained in Syria for some time and is not able to work anymore. Thanks to Karam, I left work and am focusing on school. I face a little bit of difficulty in my physics and Turkish class but thank God for the internet and friends, whenever I have a question I go straight to them. I feel so happy when I write in my journal and when I help anyone in need. When my friend Sophiya and I play together, we try to speak in another language so we can strengthen our skills. I really hope Sophiya becomes a doctor in the future, just like she dreams of. I look up to my mother and father, I love how they don’t necessarily stick to our customs and traditions. Something funny happened the other day, as my friend and I were walking to school a herd of goats followed us the whole way there.” - Kifah.
